YANA is a caring and compassionate community that recognizes, validates and supports woman ages 18 to 24 in grief. We understand that 1 in 10 children in the United States will have experienced the loss of a parent or spouse by the time they are a high school senior. Studies have shown that around 37% to 44% of college students experience a loss within the first 2 years of their academic career.
Other important losses to young people may include the loss of a close person or pet, parents' divorce, job loss, life transitions, relationship break‐ups, identity changes, and world crises.
YANA is designed to provide a structured way to learn about grief, including how to talk about it, get support, learn how to help a grieving peer, and how to feel less isolated and alone. Grief is the normal, dynamic, and multifaceted response to loss that is unique to each young person.

YANA is a 14 week support group program designed to help women ages 18 to 24 navigate through the emotional challenges of losing a loved one.

YANA is a welcoming and safe environment, lead by trained facilitators offering small group discussions, video seminars with experts and personal workbook exercises. The program uses a faith-based approach

YANA is not just a support group. It is a community empowering women to support each other through grief.
